It’s one of the most prestigious educational systems in Europe, with excellent academic results for its students. There are two different stages:

  • First grade (Premier degré): includes early childhood and primary education.
  • Second grade (Second degré): includes secondary education.

Within the Second degree we differentiate:

  • Collège (11 to 15 years): 4 years duration. It is divided into Sixième, Cinquième, Quatrième and Troisième.
  • Lycées (15 to 18 years): 3 years in length. Divided into Seconde, Première, and Terminale.
  • Troisième: End of cycle with obtaining “Le diplôme national du brevet”
  • Terminal: At the end of this cycle, the official “Baccalauréat” exam is taken.
  • They can be public or private centers
  • Classes 5 days a week – from 8:00 am to 5:00 or 6:00 pm
  • All classes are taught in French, with French classmates.
  • Common subjects: French literature, languages, history, mathematics, economics and science

There’s no better way to immerse yourself in another culture than living with a host family.

Host families are carefully selected after personal interviews and appropriate verification. They provide:

  • Students are supervised by a local coordinator throughout their stay.
